at the last moment i have been added to the line for a benefit concert for International Women's Day on 2/28/09. in support of women everywhere, but with a focus on women in Iran and Afghanistan, Tom Morello, The Nightwatchman and the Freedom Fighter Orchestra, Gissoo Shakeri, La Banda Skalavera, and myself with be rocking to spread the knowledge and raise funds. please come out and support your sisters in struggle.

MARCH OF STOLEN LIVES 2/6
greetings,
as we continue to push for justice for Oscar Grant, we are well aware of the amount of other lives that have been taken by the police. just last week we saw Annette Garcia, mother of 5, shot in the back by the police in Riverside; well, we did not "see" it and perhaps that is why there is less attention. on friday, february 6th there will be a MARCH OF STOLEN Lives at 3pm in Oakland. people with gather at 3pm at Frank Ogawa Plaza at 14th and Broadway. this is another opportunity to demand justice and honor those that we have lost. if you can't make the march call the mayor's office @ 510 238 3141. also, you can call the district attorney's office @ 510 272 6222. releasing mehserle on bail was a slap in the face of the community...it speaks to the rights of privilege that continue to exist in this country.
